Adjusting Upload File Size Limit

IIS 7.0 and later put an upper limit on content size which directly affects upload file size limit. If your IIS web application requires large files to be uploaded you need to make an additional adjustment. The best way to adjust these settings is by editing the Request Filtering feature settings and the request limits using IIS Manager.

1

Open IIS Manager

Open IIS Manager.

2

Select the web application

Select the web application that you want to configure.

3

Switch to Features View

Make sure you are in Features View (use the button at the bottom of the manager).

4

Open Request Filtering

Select Request Filtering and open it by double-clicking the icon. The Request Filtering pane displays.

5

Edit Feature Settings

From the Actions pane on the right hand side of the screen click the "Edit Feature Settings..." link. The Edit Request Filtering Settings window displays.

6

Set Maximum allowed content length

In the Request Limits section, enter the appropriate "Maximum allowed content length (Bytes)" and then click the OK button.
